Advent Lutheran School is led by Pastor and Headmaster Aaron Schultz. Pastor Schultz is an experienced educator with over 14 years as a teacher and principal in Lutheran schools.

History
of Advent
Advent Lutheran Church was founded in November 1994 with the building completed in May of 1997. Advent Lutheran Preschool began in 2000 with a 3s and 4s class, then added the half-day Kindergarten in 2013. Under Mrs. Trewartha’s direction, the MMO, Preschool and Kindergarten programs have become pillars in Zionsville for quality Early Childhood Education.
Though it had been considered in previous years, the Church began considering building an elementary school in earnest in 2020. In early 2021 a school expansion committee formed and began meeting regularly. By January 2022 a candidate, Pastor Aaron Schultz, had been identified to become the school’s first Headmaster. He was called by the Church to the role of Associate Pastor and Headmaster in April 2022.
Pastor Schultz’s extensive experience as a teacher in classical Lutheran schools led the board to agree and support the making of Advent a Classical Christian school. Advent Lutheran Classical School opened its doors in August 2022 with 1st and 2nd grade.
For 2023-2024, ALCS will offer 1st through 6th grade. We intend to add one grade each year thereafter until 8th grade. With the support and generosity of Advent Lutheran Church, we hope to expand our building by 30,000 sqft in the coming years. Details on the Capital Campaign for Phase 3 of the building project coming soon.

1st & 2nd Grade
Pastor Schultz graduated from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, NE in 2008 with a BA in Elementary Education. He taught in traditional Lutheran schools in New Orleans, LA and Denver, CO for the first five years. In 2013, Pastor Schultz was hired by Immanuel Lutheran School in Alexandria, VA and was introduced to Classical Lutheran Education. After 5 more years teaching middle school math, science and PE, Pastor Schultz decided to pursue a Masters of Divinity from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, IN. He received his first call to Advent Evangelical Lutheran Church in April of 2022 and opened the doors to Advent Classical Lutheran School in August 2022.
3rd & 4th Grade
Miss Elizabeth Paul graduated from Concordia University in Mequon Wisconsin in May 2023 with a degree in Classics and a minor in Pedagogy. She joined Advent in August of the same year. Miss Paul is the daughter of LCMS missionaries. In addition to Wisconsin, she has lived in Macau, China; St. Louis; southern Indiana; and Taiwan. She enjoys playing piano/organ, crafting and reading.
5th & 6th Grade
Mrs. Jena Mackay joined Advent’s faculty in August 2023. Mrs. Mackay brings over 20 years of teaching experience with her, most recently at Our Shepherd Lutheran School in Avon, IN. She is the wife of Advent Evangelical Lutheran Church’s senior Pastor Marcus Mackay and mother to four (almost) grown men. Their youngest attends Lutheran High School and their second youngest plays football for Valparaiso University. Mrs. Mackay enjoys sports, running and being with her boys.
