1839 - G.H. Loeber received one of the first pastoral calls among the Saxon immigrants in America

1907 - Immanuel Lutheran College, Greensboro, North Carolina, was dedicated.
June 3
1931 - Francis Pieper died. Pieper served as the fourth president of the Missouri Synod.
1980 - Oliver Harms died. Harms served as the seventh president of the Missouri Synod.
June 4
1743 - The first Bible in America was printed.
June 5
1960 - Martin Luther's Small Catechism was translated into Taiwanese.
June 6
1657 - John Ernst Gutwasser arrived in New Amsterdam. Gutwasser was the first pastor of the oldest Lutheran church in America.
June 7
1576 - Jakob Andreae, Martin Chemnitz, David Chytraeus and others completed the Torgau Book. The Torgau Book, based on Andreae's "Six Christian Sermons", was eventually revised into the Bergen Book, which became a part of the Formula of Concord.
June 8
1838 - Approximately 250 Lutheran immigrants, led by August Kavel, left Germany for Australia. They landed in Southern Australia seven months later and named their settlement Klemzig.

1899 - The first of three pastoral conferences which led to the formation of the Slovak Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in the United States of America (Slovensk-evanjelická augsburgského vyznania celocirkev v spojenych státoch americkych) was held in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
1917 - The Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Synod, the Norwegian Synod, and the United Norwegian Lutheran Church in America merged to form the Norwegian Lutheran Church in America.

1839 - O.H. Walther, the brother of C.F.W. Walther, was installed as pastor at Trinity, St. Louis.
June 11
1520 - Martin Luther published his Papacy at Rome.
June 12
1892 - The Walther Mausoleum in St. Louis was dedicated.

1525 - Martin Luther, a former monk, married Katharina von Bora, a former nun.
June 14
1918 - The Norwegian Synod of the American Evangelical Lutheran Church was organized.
June 15
1520 - Pope Leo X issued a papal bull, Exsurge Domine, condemning Martin Luther as a heretic.
June 16
1548 - As a result of the Augsburg Interim, the Adiaphoristic Controversy arose. The controversy dealt with the Emperor's demands that the Lutherans restore the Catholic mass, sacraments, and authority of the Pope. Article X of the Formula of Concord eventually settled the matter.
June 17
1415 - John Hus was burned at the stake for heresy. Hus, a Czech reformer who was influenced by the English philosopher John Wycliffe, led a reform movement a century before Martin Luther.
June 18
1926 - The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod founded its Mission to the Blind.
June 19
325 - The first Council of Nicaea began. Constantine I convened the council to deal with doctrinal issues.
June 20
1530 - The first Diet of Augsburg began. Charles V called the diet to deal with the growing religious schism.
1949 - Advent's Webmaster was born. (just a check to see if anyone is reading this...let the Webmaster know if you are!)

1997 - Dedication service for Advent's new church at 11250 N. Michigan Rd.
June 22
1917 - The Lutheran Laymen's League was organized. The League was organized for the laity "to aid The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod in word and deed".
June 23
1530 - The leaders of the Reformation signed the Augsburg Confession. The Confession was an explanation of the position and beliefs of the Lutherans.

1485 - Johannes Bugenhagen was born. One of the main Reformers and pastor of the city church at Wittenberg, Bugenhagen helped Luther with his German Bible translation as well as translating the Bible into Low German himself..
1499 - John Brenz was born. Brenz was Luther's most reliable friend in southern Germany.
June 25
1530 - The leaders of the Reformation presented the Augsburg Confession Emperor Charles V. The Confession was an explanation of the position and beliefs of Lutheranism.
1580 - Fifty years after the presentation of the Augsburg Confession, the Book of Concord was made available to the public.
1600 - David Chytraeus died. Chytraeus was a Lutheran theologian who played an important role in the writing of the Formula of Concord.
June 26
1546 - Emperor Charles V joined forces with Pope Paul III against Luther's followers.
June 27
1852 - Francis Pieper was born. Pieper served as the fourth president of the Missouri Synod.
June 28
1519 - Charles V was elected emperor of the Holy Roman Empire
June 30
1548 - The Augsburg Interim was issued. The Interim was a document outlining the temporary truce between the Catholics and the Protestants.
