Confirmation Instruction
Confirmation Youth and their parents will meet August 23rd after 10:45 worship service. The purpose of the meeting is to explain the program of instruction and answer any questions that the parents might have.
First year students (typically 7th graders) and Second year students (typically 8th graders) will meet on Tuesday evenings from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. throughout the school year.
They will study both the Lutheran Catechism and the materials from the Year of the Bible curriculum. There will be some memorization of the six chief parts of the catechism (The Ten Commandments, the Apostles Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, Holy Baptism, The Lord’s Supper, Confession) and a comprehensive study of readings from various parts of the Bible. The Sunday School hour (required attendance for the program) will help the students to answer questions and discuss in preparation for the Tuesday evening study. The class will not meet whenever school is not in session.
