Bible Study Opportunities
Adult Sunday Bible Study
-Taught by Pastor Fiene
A Christian faith needs to be fed the Word of God, so Advent’s adults gather for an hour on Sunday morning (9:30 – 10:30 a.m.) in the Fellowship Hall to learn and study that our faith might grow deeper and stronger. Bibles are available. Refreshments are provided. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and the study is always taught by a pastor.
Adult Midweek Bible Studies
Advent offers a variety of opportunities to study God’s Word or to broaden our understanding of the Christian Church and its teachings.
Wednesday Morning Bible Study
-Taught by Pastor Fiene
Begins at 9:30 a.m. The topic of study for the day is chosen from one of the Year of the Bible readings.
Confessional Study
The Lutheran Confessions are the “constitutions” of the Lutheran Church. They explain the doctrines and teachings of Christianity in response to controversies that arose around the Reformation and the turbulent century that followed. They contain valuable lessons and teaching materials that have helped to guide the Lutheran Church in its doctrine and practice today. Confessional studies have previously been held on Friday morning over breakfast at Bub’s Café in Carmel. Future dates and sites are to be announced.
